Happy Open Access Week!
One of the ways that the Leddy Library supports making access free to the reader, is by the support and hosting of scholarly journals, including openly licensed ones. The Leddy Library provides software, support and hosting services for academic journals, monographs, and conferences that manage the process from submission to publication.

Have you always wanted to write a novel? This November, you can write your book at the Leddy Library!
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). NaNoWriMo is a non-profit organization that fosters community and support in creative endeavours.
The challenge is this: write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days! So many people get bogged down worrying about grammar and writing poignant prose that they can’t finish a novel. Write your first draft during NaNoWriMo, and the editing can wait until December!
The Leddy Library is hosting a week-long lecture series to celebrate the 10th annual International Open Access Week.
Open Access week takes place October 22 to 28 and is an opportunity for researchers around the world to continue to learn about the benefits of Open Access, to share their experience with colleagues, and to help improve access to scholarship and research around the world.
The Leddy library is excited to announce its recent increase in coverage of the historic newspaper, the Detroit Free Press. Previously covering issues from 1831-1922, Leddy now has access to 1923-1999 as well!
Safari Books discontinued
Safari Books, a package of 299 technology e-books from O’Reilly Media, has been discontinued by the vendor and is no longer available to students, faculty and staff. O’Reilly has replaced the previous package with a new e-learning platform, similar to Lynda.com. The University of Windsor already provides free access to Lynda.com for students, faculty and staff!
The UWill Discover Student Research Collaboratory@Leddy will provide the University of Windsor’s most inquisitive minds with state-of-the-art dynamic space to share their findings and develop collaborative relationships with partners from across campus and globally. This innovative digital space will serve not only as a virtual window to the world, but also as a physical community encouraging collaborative communities of inquiry and knowledge creation.
At this time the request option is not working within our library catalogue. The request option normally allows users to recall a book that is currently signed out by another user.
Dr. Andrzej Kurnicki, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Canada, visited the Leddy Library this Monday, March 26.
Starting on Monday February 12th we will be conducting some regular sweeps of the library to help us assess space use. You may notice some of our staff wandering up and down the building with clipboards during this time. They will collecting information on how many patrons are using different spaces in the building. They will not be collecting information about any of our patrons. The information collected will be used for internal space planning purposes only. Staff will be as unobtrusive as possible and there should be no disruption.
