The Importance of Collecting Open Access Content at the Institutional Level

The library has a long history of collecting research at the institutional level. We have a responsibility for the collection of our graduate theses and dissertations. We have also always collected faculty publications albeit through subscriptions. However the emergence of open access means that we have begun to collect faculty content in a way that we didn't have to previously.

Varieties of Open Access

There are a variety of ways in which authors can make their research available open access. As authors you are not simply restricted to trying to use a small set of journals that may not suit your research. This video discusses the variety of options for making research available OA. Graduate and Undergraduate Philosophy Conferences now online!

On March 28th the University of Windsor hosted the Essays of Significance and Critical Reflections graduate and undergraduate philosophy conferences. Thanks to the excellent work of organizers Katherine Sulatycki and Erin Plumb who made this possible. Participants for both the undergrad and graduate conference came from Canada, the United States and even several participants from overseas.
