Black Lives Matter - A Reading List

To celebrate Black History Month, the Leddy Library is sharing The Left Bank Books` Black Lives Matter Reading List. The Left Bank Books bookstore is located in St. Louis, Missouri.

This is a community curated list of books, poems, articles and blog posts that explore race, not only in St. Louis, but America as a whole. By no means a full comprehensive list, here are a few to get you started on the trail of understanding what's happening.

Good reads at Leddy Library

For this month's installment of shared reading lists we have Leddy Library's own Yvonne Arnowitz who was kind enough to share some of her favourite good reads with us!

Fiction

It’s always great to go back to the classics and revisit a forgotten time or place:

Leddy's hidden stash of awesome books

It's getting so close to December Holiday Recess which means more time for reading! University of Windsor student Nabila Sharieff has kindly shared with us some of her choices of awesome books that you can find at Leddy for your own reading pleasure.

And if you are interesting in sharing your list of favourite books and other treasures of the Leddy, please send them our way for sharing.

Access to RefWorks will end in August, 2015

The Leddy Library has provided access to the RefWorks citation management system through a consortial arrangement with the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL). This contract will no longer be renewed by OCUL.

As such, all access to RefWorks via the Leddy Library will cease. We urge users of RefWorks to export their references by August, 2015 because after this time it will no longer be possible to do so.

Climb new heights at The Leddy Library

The good people of University of Windsor's Employee Engagement & Development have just issued you a challenge: How many stairs can you climb in 20 days? Enough to reach the peak of Mount Everest? How about Mont Tremblant?

If you are looking for a good place to start stair climbing on March 11th, you could do well by trekking the heights of Leddy Library.  The stairs from the basement to the 4th floor of our Main Building is made up of 90 steps, or 7.5 flights.

Generate a list with call numbers using Zotero

Sometimes the best features of the software you use are still waiting to be discovered - even after years of use. TIL (that's Internet lingo for Today I Learned) that Zotero has the option to generate simple reports for list making and other simple pleasures.

So, if you wanted to print out a list of your books in Zotero sorted by call-number, you can add the column that contains it by clicking the little icon in the top right corner of the middle Zotero panel:
