Access the collections
Many of the items in the Media Centre are stored in analogue carriers, on formats that may not be commonly used nowadays. You can find the equipment necessary to use these collections in the Media Centre. We also loan out some devices at the Information Desk to use these items.
Questions on how to use these devices? Ask for help at the Information Desk, and we'll show you how to use them.
- Microfiche and Microfilm: use the dedicated microform readers in the Media Centre to read these items. Read more on how to use these devices.
- Videos: DVD and VHS players are located in the Media Centre. Portable DVD and Bluray players are also available for loan at the Information Desk.
Playback in classrooms
Approximately half of the classrooms on campus have DVD players installed so that videos can be played during class. Instructors are encouraged to review what equipment is available in their classrooms in advance of the screening. Campus ITS is able to loan portable DVD and Blu-ray players to instructors for their courses.
