Contactless pickup and digital delivery of library materials now available for undergrad students

Contactless pickup and digital delivery services at Leddy Library are now available to all undergraduate students.

The library launched the new services to resume the borrowing of physical materials in mid-July to faculty and graduate students.

“The launch went very well with roughly 300 items requested and processed,” said Dave Johnston, head of Access Services. “We are excited to expand the services to the rest of campus.”

Since the building closure in March, the campus has relied on the electronic resources available through the library.

Students are now able to request and pick up physical loan materials through the library website. In addition, digital delivery services will enable students to request electronic files of scanned material within the allowable copyright laws and fair dealing guidelines.

“We are working carefully with Health and Safety to develop plans to safely resume more library services,” said Johnston. “We look forward to resuming additional services when it is safe to do so.”

Strict health and safety protocols to provide these services must be followed. The library requests patience from the campus community during this time, it may take up to two weeks from the time of a request to delivery of the materials.
