Depositing research data in an appropriate data repository such as our institutional Borealis can help preserve research data over time, increase its visibility, and support responsible data sharing and reuse to foster new research and innovation.
Join us on online November 6 from 1:00pm-2:00pm to learn about the key considerations involved in preparing and depositing research data for preservation and sharing.
The session will cover how to select an appropriate data repository based on data type and disciplinary norms, prepare data and documentation for deposit, consider access and licensing options, and understand issues related to sensitive or restricted data. Participants will also learn about metadata, persistent identifiers, and other practices that can make deposited data easier to discover, understand, and reuse.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clearer understanding of the steps involved in preparing research data for deposit and making informed decisions about where and how to share it.
