Roger joined the University of Windsor in 2018. As a member of the Collections and Licensing Services Unit, and the Collection Development and Technical Services Team, he works primarily to analyze, develop, and maintain the library's collections with a focus on the STEM subjects. As Acting Head, he leads the librarians and staff of the unit, and has responsibilities over the library's technical services operations (acquisitions, resource sharing, and cataloguing). Roger works with and provides service to the Ontario Council of University Libraries and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network to advance information resource licensing collectively.
His role also includes involvement in the library's developing knowledge synthesis service, and supports faculty and students with systematic reviews. Roger holds the rank of Librarian II.
Roger's area of professional and research focus centres on programmatic and data-driven approaches to collections analysis, knowledge syntheses, and science misinformation. He is also a certified Carpentries instructor, and enjoys teaching newbies how to code.
Prior to joining Leddy Library, Roger worked at the University of Toronto's Gerstein Science Information Centre, working within the knowledge synthesis unit. He formerly served in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve and retired as a captain.
