This Guide to Finding Statistics on Windsor and Area focuses on sources that provide data on Windsor and the surrounding region.
A note on geography: local agencies will tend to collect and release data on the area in which they provide services, and the size and boundaries of these areas will vary considerably. For example, Local Health Integration Units (LHINs) are regional authorities set up to coordinate delivery of some health services. Windsor is in the Erie-St. Clair LHIN, a largish unit covering Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Lambton. Statistics Canada collects and releases health data by Health Region. Windsor is in the Windsor-Essex County health unit, which as the name implies covers only Windsor and Essex County. Getting statistics on just the city of Windsor is often difficult if not impossible, so your goal is to find the smallest available area that contains the location you are interested in and has the data you require.
