Request an Affiliate e-Resource Access account (Friends Account)

An affiliate e-Resource account (formerly 'friend account') is requested on behalf of individuals that do not already have a UWin ID that enables them to access the library's online resources. These are persons who are supporting the teaching or research mission of the university in some capacity that requires library resource access for a short period of time. For example, nursing preceptors or adjunct faculty.

Requests for Friend Accounts should be referred to the Access Services Coordinator by a faculty member or staff in a department or faculty at the University that can verify the individuals role. The request must include:
 

• The reason access is required
• The end date after which access will be closed
• The name(s) of the person(s)
• The email of the person(s)

The Access Services Coordinator will review and confirm the request and create account(s) as needed and communicate with the person(s) requiring access. 

Persons requiring access for more than one semester are encouraged to work with their affiliated department or faculty to obtain a UWin ID.
