Do you find it hard to carve time into your schedule for writing your thesis or dissertation?
The Leddy Library’s Write Now! sessions are an opportunity for grad students to come together to write regularly. Fitting writing into your weekly schedule can make the daunting task of writing a thesis, dissertation, or other large project a lot more palatable.
Coming to these sessions and writing among other like-minded individuals can enable you use accountability to benefit your writing. You can finally break that habit of procrastinating and get your work done. These sessions are a great motivator that will help you stay focused – at least for two hours out of the week.
The sessions will be very loosely structured, with writing sprints, the use of the Pomodoro technique, and the occasional writing tip to keep you inspired. Not familiar with the Pomodoro technique? Check out this blog post that one of our lovely librarians has written: https://librarian.aedileworks.com/labs/learning-objects/learning-objects-teach-me-discipline-the-pomodoro-technique/.
We’re hosting these sessions in the Leddy Library Staff Lounge on the fourth floor of the main building, which has comfy seats and a beautiful view of the bridge.
When: Thursdays from 2 – 4 PM
