Fair Dealing Week

Workshop to aid in copyright understanding

Fair Dealing and Copyright in Higher Education
Each year during the last week of February, Canada celebrates Fair Dealing Week to highlight the important role it plays in our educational ecosystem. Fair Dealing ensures that there is a balanced approach between creators’ rights and the rights of users and allows the use of reasonable amounts of copyrighted materials be used without permission for the purpose of research, private study, education, parody, satire, criticism, review, and news reporting.
