Changes to Leddy Library hours and Access

Leddy Library Building exterior brown brick and green landscaping.

Beginning September 8, 2026, Leddy Library will introduce a revised access and service model that changes how users can access the library later in the evening.

From Monday to Thursday, the library will continue to offer late-evening building access until midnight so students can study, conduct research, use computers and work in the library.

On Fridays, the library will close at 9 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, the library will open earlier, at 10 a.m., and close at 8 p.m.

To maintain these extended access hours, Leddy Library will operate with two types of hours: full-service hours and extended building hours.

During full-service hours, users will experience no significant changes to library services. During extended building hours, the West Building and the circulation and information desk will be closed, while the Main Leddy Library building will remain open. Student staff will be present during these hours to provide building support.

What does this mean for library users?

Many library resources and services will continue to be available to students, staff and faculty after the service desk closes, including:

Some services will only be available during full-service hours. Users should plan to visit during those hours if they need:

  • print course reserves;
  • selected technology and equipment;
  • in-person reference assistance;
  • pickup of items ordered from other libraries.

For the most current schedule and information about available services, visit the Leddy Library hours webpage.

We recognize that changes to library hours and services may require some adjustment. Our goal is to preserve evening and weekend access to library spaces while continuing to provide full services during the hours when they are most needed. We appreciate your patience as we introduce this new model.
