Web of Science (Clarivate)
  • Provides several research assessment tools:
    • Web of Science (a curated bibliographic database of the most impactful research in most disciplines). Useful for finding out about comparative information on researchers, institutions, and research disciplines.
    • Journal Citation Reports (a measure of citation activity for journal literature in many disciplines
    • Essential Science Indicators (useful for comparing citation rates in different disciplines)

Scopus (Elsevier)
ORCID
  • Provides a persistent digital identifier (an ORCID iD) that you own and control, and that distinguishes you from every other researcher.
  • You can connect your iD with your professional information — affiliations, grants, publications, peer review, and more.
  • You can use your iD to share your information with other systems, ensuring you get recognition for all your contributions, saving you time and hassle, and reducing the risk of error
  • University of Windsor belongs to the ORCID-CA consortium, through Leddy Library
SciVal (Elsevier)
  • SciVal provides access to the research performance of over 23,800 research institutions and their associated researchers, from 234 nations worldwide.
  • Requires creation of an account on their site.
  • Useful for comparing research impact at the comparative institutional, country and disciplinary perspectives.

Research Impact Canada
  • Peter Severinson. 2018. "Approaches to Assessing Impacts in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Recommendations from the Canadian Research Community"
Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)
  • Recognizes the need to improve the ways in which the outputs of scholarly research are evaluated. The declaration was developed in 2012 during the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology in San Francisco. It has become a worldwide initiative covering all scholarly disciplines and all key stakeholders including funders, publishers, professional societies, institutions, and researchers.
