These are sources for demographic data, as well as sites to find data related to crime and justice. Except for the link underCriminology Data titled Canada crime and justice statistics, the other links are all a mix of data, thus must be searched to find relevant information. Data is useful to provide evidence for claims made within your research, but it can also serve as a point of departure for formulating a research question.

For further help there is the Academic Data Centre, whose librarians are always willing help. You can email libdata@uwindsor.ca, they will be able to provide some direction and specific resources to focus your search. They can also set up an appointment for further consultation if necessary.

Homicide Survey 1960 to 2020: This survey collects detailed data on homicide in Canada. The survey has collected police-reported data on the characteristics of all murder incidents, victims and accused persons since 1961 and all homicides (including murder, manslaughter and infanticide) since 1974.
