Discover Rich Data for Analysis through the University of Windsor’s Statistics Canada Research Data Centre (RDC)

Join us October 17, 2024 from 2pm-3pm for an informational session about the University of Windsor Statistics Canada Research Data Centre (RDC) and what it offers to University of Windsor researchers.

As a member of the university-based Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN), the University of Windsor is one of over 30 RDCs across Canadian campuses.

As a national network, CRDCN provides a rich offering of confidential microdata files to University of Windsor researchers. In contrast to public use microdata files, confidential microdata from major Canadian surveys and economic and health administrative records allow for powerful statistical analysis of variables suppressed and aggregated in public use files. As a secure data enclave, the University of Windsor RDC is therefore a rich trove of data sources for quantitative researchers across disciplines.

This session also explains the application process for access and highlights outstanding University of Windsor publication outputs. The status of the $17.4 million CFI-funded virtual infrastructure, being developed by the Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN) and Statistics Canada, will also be presented.
