Dive into climate action with a collaborative workshop at Leddy Library

Students are invited to take a deeper look at one of the defining challenges of our time through an interactive workshop focused on climate change and collective action.

The Climate Fresk workshop is designed to build climate literacy by helping participants understand the science and systems behind climate change, while encouraging meaningful discussion and collaboration.

The event will take place Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the Leddy Library Collaboratory. Registration is required, and space is limited.

“This is a chance to connect with peers, build climate literacy and walk away with insights that can shape how we learn, live and act in response to climate change,” said Roger Reka, head of collections and licensing services.

“Spots are limited, so students are encouraged to register early to secure their place in this hands-on exploration of climate change and community resilience.”

Unlike a traditional lecture, the workshop brings participants together to explore how greenhouse gases, ecosystems and human systems interconnect and influence the planet’s future. Through guided collaboration and interactive activities, attendees will examine cause-and-effect relationships at the core of climate science, transforming complex concepts into shared understanding.

Participants do not need a background in science to take part — just curiosity, an open mind and a willingness to think collectively about solutions.

The workshop has been experienced by millions of participants worldwide and is delivered locally through a partnership between the University of Windsor’s Office of Sustainability, Leddy Library and PurposeLink, a Windsor-based climate action non-profit organization.

Students interested in participating can register through the Leddy Library events calendar.
