Is Statistics Canada's time series database. It contains 1.2 million series in 1,400 tables which cover a wide variety of social and economic aspects of Canadian life. The data collected is from Statistics Canada and other agencies such as the Bank of Canada, CMHC, etc. Access is free to all University of Windsor faculty, staff, and students. Although CANSIM II via the University of Toronto does have a search function, users may have more success using the subject and/or keyword approach offered by Statistics Canada. In this case, copy down the table or series number you are interested in and then plug it into the CANSIM II search engine at the University of Toronto site. Cansim I is no longer being updated as of January 1st, 2002 but is being retained for historical reasons.
