Leddy Library offers Feel-Good Fines to ring in holiday season

Feel-Good Fines. From November 15th – December 15th you can pay your overdue library fines with canned goods to support the Campus Food Bank. For each non-perishable donation, you’ll receive $2 off your fines, up to $50 per person.

’Tis the season to give and Leddy Library wants to help patrons get in the holiday spirit with Feel-Good Fines.

The library is offering the campus community two ways to feel good about paying overdue library fines.

  • First, from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15, students can pay their overdue library fines with canned goods to support the Campus Food Bank. For each non-perishable item donated, students will receive a $2 credit towards their fines.
  • Second, all fines paid on Tuesday, Nov. 27, will be donated to the Liberty Project through Enactus Windsor as part of UWindsor’s #GivingTuesday initiatives.

There are a few rules to remember: Each student can redeem a maximum of $50 and cannot gain additional credit to pay off future fines. In addition, donations cannot be applied to fees for missing or lost materials unless those materials are returned.

Food items can be brought to the circulation desk, located inside the library. Be sure to check the expiration date of the item before donating.
