The Leddy Library provides software, support and hosting services for data driven and visual collections. Our hosted instance of Omeka provides the ability to employ a wide range of Omeka plugins, space for image hosting, the ability to create curated digital exhibits, and the tools to allow users to engage with your content through maps and timelines.

Omeka installation with the ability to install any plugins.
Hardware - computers, digital scanners, recording equipment
Additional Software - Adobe Cloud Suite

Traning and Setup

The Leddy Library will work with faculty and students to help them to get started with the use of these tools to for classes and research.

Support

The Leddy Library can provide ongoing support should questions arise.

Sample Projects

Omeka is a great software platform for developing engaging visual collections. Through plugins like Neatline developers can add geospatial and temporal component for users to interact with. For example, Omeka provides us with a platform to share the developing Wilfred "Boomer" Harding and the Chatham Coloured All-Stars collection. We can then take the items in that collection and place them in historical context through maps and timelines. You can see examples of other Omeka and Neatline projects here and here
