Memo from the Provost
Submitted by Gwendolyn Ebbett on Wed, 10/27/2010 - 12:00
To all faculty:
The University of Windsor, along with all post-secondary institutions in Canada, is currently in a period of some instability with respect to copyright licensing for photocopying activities on campus. As a result, our license with Access Copyright expires December 31, 2010. In consequence, it is necessary to set a firm deadline for the submission of courseware packages to be used in the Winter 2011 semester.
In order to allow for the Document Imaging Centre to produce courseware for the upcoming semester, faculty submissions must be received no later than Friday, November 12, 2010 – submissions beyond this date cannot be processed.
We appreciate that this may pose a challenge in some areas, and encourage faculty members, where necessary, to consider the use of other options currently available as alternatives, including commercially available textbooks, a Blackboard Learn website with links to licensed digital content, or the use of library course reserve services.

If you have any questions, please call Joan Dalton, our Acting University Librarian (x3161) or Cathy Maskell, Associate University Librarian (x3206)
