Distance Education Students - services

Purpose and Scope:
To describe library services offered to distance education students

An active student card will give them access to over 17,000 electronic journal titles available from any PC with an Internet connection anywhere in the world. They can browse the fulltext of articles, print them, email them or save them to disk. Leddy also has many electronic indexes to the journal literature. To access any of the electronic subscriptions from off-campus, they will be prompted to provide a user ID (their full uwindsor email address) and a password. Due to licensing restrictions, Leddy can only provide off-site access to the electronic collection to registered students, faculty and staff of the University of Windsor.

Their University of Windsor student card allows them to borrow, in person, at all Ontario University Libraries with some exceptions. Also, through the INFOPASS program, students may borrow library items, in person, from selected libraries in Michigan.

For a quick answer right away, they can try out the "Chat with a Librarian" service. If there is no librarian available to help them, they will be able to send an email instead. Questions about searching for information, accessing materials, strategies for research can be answered.
