Children in the Library

Purpose and Scope: 
To outline the procedure for dealing with unsupervised children in the library
Procedures: 

Children are members of the community which we serve and are therefore allowed to use the facilities of the library – as long as they are

  1. not creating a disturbance and
  2. not using computers that are needed by members of the university community.

Children are expected to comply by the policies regarding public access computers and workstations. (These are quick access machines - 15 minutes per user - and no game playing is allowed.)

Exceptions to the rule

  • If a handicapped access workstation is being used by a disabled person, then the time limit can be extended or waived.
